Expecting a big summer of activity, the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been frustrated at their lack of signing thus far.
Desperate to make a much better go of retaining their Premier League crown next season, the Blues in the bar are eager to see Antonio Conte backed by the board at Stamford Bridge in a way Jose Mourinho wasn’t two summers ago.
Still, while the club endure a relatively quiet summer so far, at least the players leaving west London provide our resident Blues something to talk about. Indeed, the likes of Dominic Solanke, Nathan Ake and Asmir Begovic have all been allowed to leave and, according to reports emanating out of France, another could soon join them.
L’Equipe claim Ligue 1 side Rennes have contacted top brass in SW6 about a potential move for Loic Remy this summer. The Frenchman spent last season on loan with Crystal Palace, though his spell there was largely blighted by injuries.
The 30-year-old has impressed in the Premier League at former clubs QPR and Newcastle United, though hasn’t had much in the way of first-team minutes since joining Chelsea in the summer of 2014. With that in mind, Les Rouges et Noirs are understood to have made an enquiry in regards to his availability.
Entering the final year of his deal, Remy is believed to want to kickstart his international career with Les Bleus, so a move could indeed appeal.
Considering his struggles to get into the first-team, our resident Blues in the bar are hoping he leaves.
