With EURO 2016 now done and dusted, the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern can firmly turn their attentions to an Antonio Conte induced overhaul, as the Italian officially begins work in West London.
While the Italian has been away, the proverbial rumour mill has been at play.
Such is the vast nature of the man’s connection to Italian football, the Blues have been touted as a potential landing spot for all manner of Serie A based players.
However, reports in the Daily Telegraph suggest the 46-year old’s first manner of business will not be to do with his homeland, instead desperately trying to seal a deal for Leicester City lynchpin N’Golo Kante.
The Frenchman was a monumental success for the Foxes last term amid their shock title win and is believed to have a £20m release clause in his deal with the Premier League champions.
While the East Midlands outfit are still believed to retain the option of selling to the highest bidder, interest emanating from the Chinese Super League is understood to have prompted the Stamford Bridge giants to act quickly.
The 25-year old himself is said to want to move to the club and is likely to snub interest, no matter how lucrative, from Shanghai SIPG.
How imperative is it that Chelsea sign Kante this summer?
