Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have questioned the signing of Ross Barkley after Antonio Conte revealed during his press conference (posted on their official Twitter account) today that the club must have great patience with the player given the nature of the injury he suffered before joining the Blues in January.
Conte says we must have great patience with regards to Ross Barkley's fitness given the nature of the injury he suffered before joining the club. #CHECRY

Barkley is one of a number of players that have underwhelmed since joining Chelsea this season. The club’s recent transfer business has matched the clubs recent form as the Stamford Bridge faithful find themselves five points off of 4th placed Tottenham. Conte’s second season in charge at the club has been a disappointing one so far, as he’s failed to live up to the lofty expectations he set himself in his first year at the club by winning the Premier League.
There’s still hope for the Chelsea fans that have been propping our bar up, as they travel to Barcelona for the second leg of their last 16 tie with the Catalan giants. Chelsea drew 1-1 in London and will need a big performance if they’re to qualify for the competitions last eight. The Blues will also be hoping they can win some domestic silverware, as they face Leicester City in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup.

Given the nature of his injury it seems only a tinpot board like ours would give the green light to sign
