Conte keen on £25.5m January Chelsea move for formidable defender

There’s not much to moan about for the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern right now, who’ve watched manager Antonio Conte completely turn what appeared to be a sinking ship around with relative ease.

Ever since the Italian reverted to a 3-4-3 formation, our west London locals have been in delirious delight and the sort of solidity that had defined the Blues for oh so long appears to have returned to the ranks.

In fact, the Stamford Bridge titans are looking so strong that even a certain David Luiz is emerging as a top-class resolute defender.

So, with that in mind, reports from Premium Sport suggesting the club are ready to make ANOTHER big move for a defender in January have only widened our resident Chelsea fans’ smiles.

They claim Roma defender Antonio Rudiger is of interest to the former Italy and Juventus coach, who is reportedly planning a €30m for the German international.

He only moved to the Italian capital last year, though has impressed for the Giallorossi during his brief time at the Stadio Olimpico.

Able to operate in a three-man defence, the reported figure roughly equates to around £25.5m, representing a huge gain on the €13m the Serie A club initially shelled out for him in 2015.
