It’s been hard to stop the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern from dancing on the pool tables since Antonio Conte reverted to a 3-4-3 formation.
The 4-0 thumping against Manchester United has had the Blues propping up the bar beaming with smiles as tongues talk about a title tilt once more.
Now, the good times keep rolling following reports from the Mirror.
They claim the Italian coach is ready to hand academy graduate Nathaniel Chalobah a new deal after his impressive run of form for the west London giants.
After falling victim to the club’s infamous youth policy, the 21-year-old was farmed out on loan to clubs in the Football League, as well as a bizarre stint with Napoli.
However, the arrival of the former Juventus and Italy boss has seemingly heralded a new dawn for the England U21 international, who has been involved in the first-team more.
He rewarded the 46-year-old’s faith in him with a lovely assist for teammate Victor Moses in the recent win over Leicester City and is reportedly set to be handed a new deal.
Currently out of contract at the end of the season, a bumper pay rise is expected to follow suit for one of the club’s few genuine academy prospects.
