Chelsea patrons in the Transfer Tavern are expecting a big summer at Stamford Bridge, should their side lift the English title as expected.
Being reigning Premier League champions is always a solid selling point in the transfer market and the Blues will likely have to recruit anyway, to cope with the added demands of Champions League football.
The Tavern’s Chelsea contingent are particularly keen to see the strike-force bolstered. Although Diego Costa has performed well on the most part this season, he’s still a volatile character and lacks a truly dependable understudy – with summer signing Michy Batshuayi struggling to convince.
One name doing the rounds who would certainly go a long way to strengthening that area is Alvaro Morata, the Real Madrid forward who Antonio Conte is incredibly keen to sign this summer according to AS.
The Italian brought the Spain international to Juventus in 2014 before taking the Azzurri job and according to Goal, Conte is such an avid fan he talks about Morata ‘almost every day’ – suggesting he will be a big target for the coming transfer window.
Despite not being a guaranteed starter at the Bernabeu, Morata has bagged 13 goals across all competitions this season.
