Life’s been going rather well for the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern ever since Antonio Conte reverted to a 3-4-3 formation a number of weeks ago.
The Blues propping up the bar have been dancing on the pool tables of late as the notion of challenging for the Premier League title returns amid our west London locals conversations once more.
Now, further topic for debate has arisen following reports from Gazzetta Dello Sport.
They claim Conte remains keen on a move for Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner as his time in Turin draws to a close.
With the Old Lady having signed Dani Alves over the summer, the Swiss international is reportedly stalling on agreeing a new deal with the dominant Serie A champions.
Out of contract at the end of the season, the 32-year-old is believed to be of interest to his former boss at Stamford Bridge, along with Barcelona and Inter Milan.
Chelsea stalwart Branislav Ivanovic, who occupies a similar position for the club, is seemingly coming to the end of his glittering spell in the Premier League and Lichtsteiner could well be a good option.
Would Lichtsteiner improve Chelsea at all? Let us know below…
