Though John Terry’s reduced role at Stamford Bridge this season is likely to bring a tear to the eye of the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern, the insatiable nature of silly season has the West London locals dreaming about replacements.
With Antonio Conte now in charge, the Blues are often linked with a number of Italian and Italian based players, major changes are expected amongst his burgeoning backline.
However, it doesn’t seem as if it will just be solely Terry who loses his place under the former Juventus coach this season.
As reported by the Daily Mail, the 46-year old has revealed that American defender Matt Miazga could leave the club on loan.
The 20-year old has rarely featured since moving to the Blues from New York Red Bulls for £3.5m in January.
Playing twice in the eight months he has been in England, Conte has hinted a loan move could well be on the cards for the USMNT international.
‘I think in this moment it is good if he (Miazga) plays to improve, to go and get experience to improve”, said the ex-Italy boss.
‘You can improve only if you play. You play every game or a lot of games during the season. But he is a good guy and I am very happy about him.”
Does Miazga have a future at Chelsea? Would a loan move help him? Let us know below…
