David Luiz’s Barca Tweet Sparks The Wrath Of Di Matteo

David Luiz has sparked a fury of transfer rumours by landing in Barcelona today!

Internet rumours started flying after Luiz tweeted:
“Going to #Barcelona! See u soon…”

The Independent state he also tweeted a picture of himself on what appeared to be a private plane, which is a treatment only extended to players heading to the Nou Camp.

Luiz missed last nights victory against Reading with a suspicious knee injury which he again confirmed on Twitter against the clubs wishes. Luiz tweeted:

“Good morning #geezers ! I’m a little bit sad today, because I can’t play tonight, I have pain on my knee! But ok! Come on #CFC #KTBFFH”

This revelation angered Chelsea staff with Roberto Di Matteo stating:

“This social media thing is all round us now. We’ll deal with it internally”. We believe this means a fine for the Brazilian defender.

Luiz joined Chelsea in January 2011 from Benfica for around £20m. Luiz had been linked with Barcelona earlier this summer but then the rumour seemed to die but after this later Twitter revelation the Barca link is alive and kicking.

There was also rumours today that Luiz missed last nights game because the club was thrashing out a deal with Manchester City after rejecting an initial £30m bid. Although this has been denied today by all parties including Sky sources inside Man City who have confirmed they are in the market for a central defender but reports linking them and Luiz are wide of the mark.

With only Gary Cahill, John Terry and possibly Branislav Ivanovic left as central defensive options surely both Abramovich and Di Matteo would join the fans in their desire for the eccentric David Luiz to stay.
