The anxiousness is evident on the faces of the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern as eagerly await the monumental decision in regard to John Terry’s future.

The legendary Blues bastion is mulling over a 12 month contract extension from the club, just as it appeared he was set for a money spinning move to China.

As the club await what promises to be one of the major decisions of the summer, it seems incoming manager Antonio Conte is plotting major moves regardless.

Terry is believed to have been offered a rather different role by the West London giants and will be asked to take a pay cut.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the 35-year old has been told by the incoming regime that the new Italian boss will be making attempts to sign a new central defender.

It is understood the potential arrival is with a view to placing him alongside Kurt Zouma and Gary Cahill in the backline, all three ahead of the former England captain in the pecking order.

Everton star John Stones has been frequently linked, as well as Conte’s compatriot and lieutenant at club and country Leonardo Bonucci.

Does Terry deserve to be treated better by Chelsea? Is there any point in him staying?
