Though many of the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been talking about what defenders the club simply must sign, reports from the Daily Mirror have come slightly out of left field.
They claim the Blues are keeping close tabs on Atletico Madrid forward Yannick Carrasco, who has reportedly impressed top brass at the Bridge of late.
Those in west London are thought to view the 23-year-old as a potential target for next summer, despite the vast array of attacking talent currently at Antonio Conte’s disposal.
He’s understood to currently have a £35m buy-out clause in his deal with Los Rojiblancos, though the Spanish giants are believed to want to increase that.
Currently under contract until 2020, the interest from Chelsea could see them offer him fresh terms in the Spanish capital.
The likes of Eden Hazard, Pedro and Willian are currently available to Conte in an attacking sense, with defensive frailty his biggest problem as things stand.
