Well, well, well.

Guillem Balague strikes again. This time, it’s the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern who are desperately googling the La Liga expert in order to find out all about his latest report.

Writing in Spanish daily ASthe notable journalist claims the Blues are ready to sell Diego Costa back to Atletico Madrid this summer IF they can replace him with Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Costa flopped under Jose Mourinho during the early part of the campaign, though has since found some of the ferocious form he demonstrated last year following the arrival of Guus Hiddink back in December.

Still, he reportedly wants to leave West London and former boss Diego Simeone is keen on bringing him back to Los Rojiblancos, where he originally left in 2014 for £32m.

Balague goes on to suggest incoming Blues chief Antonio Conte has instructed the club to go out and land Higuain as a replacement, after his lethal form for Napoli this season.

The 30-year old Argentina international has scored 35 times this season and established himself as one of the top forwards in European football.

It is believed he could cost as much as €48m and that discussions with the Serie A club are ‘well advanced.’

Would Higuain be an upgrade on Costa at all?
