Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have more than one reason to feel dejected this morning after the Blues dismal display at the Etihad yesterday. Chelsea were well below par in a game where they failed to register a shot on target for the first time since Opta started collecting data in 2003/04 and after the loss Chelsea fans were worried about the future of star-man Eden Hazard, who is valued at a staggering £90 million by Transfermarkt.
You only have to look at the stats to see how poor Chelsea really were in their 1-0 loss to City yesterday in what was supposed to be a well fought game between two of the Premier League’s big six. However, Antonio Conte’s Chelsea have come under increased scrutiny for the way they set up against Pep Guardiola’s champions-elect, as they set up with a flat 5-4-1 formation and no recognised striker.
The game played out as many expected it to, with City dominating possession and refusing to give Chelsea an inch as they took another step to being crowned Premier League champions. However many Chelsea fans couldn’t help but notice the body language of a dejected Eden Hazard throughout the game. Hazard was left to feed on scraps with little support and was visibly frustrated before being subbed for Alvaro Morata in the 90th minute. Previously linked with a move to Real Madrid, the Blues in our bar are fearing the worst.
Here’s what the Chelsea fans were saying:
Chelsea we’re awful yesterday, never ever wanted hazard to leave but he’s far too good for us now

It's a shame how our board has failed to build a proper team after selling players like Matic and Costa. I feel sorry for Conte as it is pretty sure that he will be leaving by the end of the season. So will Hazard. They'll bring a new manager who'll end up in the same way.#CFC

What an absolute shambles #CFC is at the minute Conte is basically just seeing out his job until the summer, to go to #MCFC and basically not try is pathetic, Hazard will be leaving in the summer for sure shocking bringing football to a new low

Wouldn’t blame Hazard leaving in the summer, this is shambolic… #CFC

No wonder Hazard and courtois are leaving, chelsea keep getting coaches who play negative football. Look at real, psg, barca, city, liverpool, spurs. We are a disgrace to football. Conte out!!

Chelsea are a club in crisis whether people want to admit it or not, no CL next season, Hazard and Courtois potentially leaving and prob end up with Tuchel/Sarri (both aren’t good enough to manage Chelsea), exciting times ahead for us Chelsea fans
