‘Far too good for us now’ – Chelsea fans on Twitter fear the worst over £90m-rated superstar

Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have more than one reason to feel dejected this morning after the Blues dismal display at the Etihad yesterday. Chelsea were well below par in a game where they failed to register a shot on target for the first time since Opta started collecting data in 2003/04 and after the loss Chelsea fans were worried about the future of star-man Eden Hazard, who is valued at a staggering £90 million by Transfermarkt.

You only have to look at the stats to see how poor Chelsea really were in their 1-0 loss to City yesterday in what was supposed to be a well fought game between two of the Premier League’s big six. However, Antonio Conte’s Chelsea have come under increased scrutiny for the way they set up against Pep Guardiola’s champions-elect, as they set up with a flat 5-4-1 formation and no recognised striker.

The game played out as many expected it to, with City dominating possession and refusing to give Chelsea an inch as they took another step to being crowned Premier League champions. However many Chelsea fans couldn’t help but notice the body language of a dejected Eden Hazard throughout the game. Hazard was left to feed on scraps with little support and was visibly frustrated before being subbed for Alvaro Morata in the 90th minute. Previously linked with a move to Real Madrid, the Blues in our bar are fearing the worst.
