Former Chelsea manager planning audacious £50m raid on Blues for star of the season

Willian

The name Luiz Felipe Scolari is always met with a shudder when you float it towards one of the Chelsea fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern.

Despite his World Cup winning exploits with Brazil, the vastly experienced coach flopped at Stamford Bridge and is a pretty unpopular figure amongst our punters.

So, reports from the Daily Mirror that he is planning a £50m raid on his former charges for star midfielder Willian have been met with a cold stare.

Now in charge of the mega wealthy Guangzhou Evergrande, Scolari is thought to have indented his countryman as an ideal target going forward.

The Chinese Super League has attracted a lot of attention in recent months after the huge levels of investment plowed into it.

Evergrande themselves have acquired the likes of Jackson Martinez and Paulinho over the past year or so at great expense as they look to raise the profile of football in the country.

Willian could be the latest to join his fellow South Americans there, with the club thought to be readying an astonishing £50m bid to pry him away from the West Londoners.

Amid arguably the worst season in recent memory for the Blues, the 27-year old has been one of few shining lights at Stamford Bridge.

Scoring 11 goals and registering six assists, the former Anzhi Makhachkala man has been the club’s key player this term.

However, a mega money offer could be tabled in an effort to bring him to China over the course of the summer.

As good as Willian has been this season, would you take £50m for him as Conte plots a major overhaul?
