The Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern aren’t exactly pleased. Indeed, the punters propping up our bar were gutted to hear that the club had stopped work on a new stadium and many of the Blues in our bar believe it’s indicative of the club’s lack of progression right now.
So, having said that, our west London locals want some good news to cling onto for once. Well, why comments in the Daily Mail aren’t exactly the most amazing thing in the world, they do provide some interesting insight into a Stamford Bridge star’s state of mind.
According to their look on the impact Zinedine Zidane’s exit from Real Madrid would have on European football, they talk about Eden Hazard. The Belgian is undoubtedly one of the best players on the continent and has previously been linked with a move to the Spanish capital.
However, according to the Mail, the former Lille man is comfortable at Chelsea right now, much to the delight of the Blues in our bar. Clearly, that’s no guarantee he’d stay, though the punters propping up our bar are happy he’s comfortable with life at the club.
If Hazard leaves Chelsea, they really will be in trouble. Out of the Champions League and seeing plans for their new stadium, he’s key to any hopes they have of making the most out of their current situation. Luckily for them, Real may have other concerns this summer, with Zizou having bid goodbye.
