Today’s rumours strive to continue this years feeling of footballing bedlam, with revelations of an interesting development in the future of Edin Hazard…thankfully it’s only a month until Wimbledon.
After the madness of the past fortnight in the world of football, and with the European Championships fast approaching, the transfer window has a lot to live up to if it’s going to WOW the public.
Every fan in the country is baying for more tension, drama and fanfare and that’s why the papers are bringing out the big guns today, that and the stone wall legitimacy of the content of course.
The Telegraph ease us into proceedings with an old favourite . Edin Hazard, who’s somehow managed to orchestrate a group of the worlds largest teams to dance to his tune for the best part of half a year, will finally manage to enlighten us as to where his future lies after Belgium’s friendly with England next week.
The winger, who scored a hat-trick in his last game for Lille, seems to have narrowed down the contenders to Chelsea, City and United. But his agent John Bico, who is no doubt absolutely loving this, stopped short of picking a favourite:
“Eden is in the reflections stage and a decision will be taken quickly,” he stated laughably.
“Those who have come forward have a one-in-three chance.”
And what an honour it must be for the current English Champions, the winners of club footballs top prize and the most successful team ever in the Premier League to have such an opportunity to prize the 21 year old Ligue 1 destroyer.
Moving away from ridiculously over sized egos…to Luis Suarez.
The Express helpfully inform us that the diminutive Uruguayan won’t be moving to Barcelona or Real Madrid this season, which is particularly intriguing as nobody in their right mind would ever think that was ever going to happen. The striker himself quoted:
“Being honest, I have never talked to anyone from Barca or Real Madrid. If the rumours are to be believed I would have already played for 20 teams.”
The Daily Star (of all papers) go down a slightly more plausible route. That isn’t to suggest their exclusive is lacking the shock factor us rumour fiends prey on, as they reveal David Silva could move back to his homeland with Spanish champions Real Madrid.
Mourinho see’s the trickster as the perfect replacement for Kaka, who could be reunited with Carlo Ancelotti at PSG. Silva was spectacular for the best part of City’s title triumph, but it is thought he misses the exposure his national team mates enjoy in their native country.
So we’ve had Suarez, Silva, Kaka and Hazard, but forever blowing our minds is the Sun, with the report newly promoted West Ham are fearing they could lose goalkeeper Rob Green due to his excessive wage demands.
The club are reluctant to lose players as they prepare for another pasting in the top flight, but shouldn’t be too concerned, as he’s really not very good.
