Chelsea fans in the Tavern these past couple of days have taken to social media to react to a players controversial Instagram post.
Charly Musonda is a 20-year-old Belgium under 21 International who currently finds himself on the Blues’ fringes and youth team, despite a fairly big reputation. After making 1 appearance in the EFL Cup, during which he scored in, he’s found his home to be in the reserves as he gains a build-up of anger at lack of first-team football.
After spending the entirety of last season on loan Liga Santander side Real Betis, where he made 24 appearances scoring only the 1 goal, he then came back into the Chelsea ranks at the start of the season.
Still, Antonio Conte isn’t budging.
His anger finally got the better of him as he took to Instagram this past week to post about the disappointment in the lack of opportunity that Chelsea Football Club offer to the younger players in the reserves. This caused a huge up roar as opinions were flying everywhere from social media to filtering through in news articles.
Conte is a man who clearly believes in buying the best players ready made, opposed to giving the youth a chance which has caused quite the stir among both players and fans of late as complacency creeps in.
So, for tricky winger Musonda, it looks like the end of the road for him as the Chelsea man looks set to not only face a possible punishment from the club but to try and find first team football elsewhere.
Here’s what Chelsea fans made of the Belgian’s comments…
You can take the moral high ground & criticize Musonda for HOW he voiced his frustration, but get real, #CFC’s youth history is the problem

Insta prob not ideal. But you can only agree with Charlie Musonda, we have the best youth academy in the world and barely use it. #CFC

Musonda's last Instagram caption on photo must have got Chelsea fans emotional because it did for me.

feel sorry for musonda, he probably works harder than most of our squad and he still doesn’t get a chance

I'm gonna be clear. If Musonda leaves Chelsea, shut the academy. There's no point having it if no one comes through. He deserves a chance!

Musonda is entitled to his frustration, like many other Chelsea youngsters. That said, Conte's concerns about his physique are valid #cfc

Look what Conte did with Costa who was our top goal scorer last season. I feel sorry for Musonda now.
