It took a while for Alexandre Pato to impress the Transfer Tavern Chelsea fans, who’ve had desperately little to shout about this season, though the Brazilian appears to have made a mark on incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte in almost world record time.
According to reports in the Daily Star, the Italian has been impressed by the 26-year old and assured him he has a future at Stamford Bridge.
It infamously took the forward 64 days to make his debt as a Blues player following his arrival on loan from Corinthians back in January, though he did manage to find the back of net on his debut against Aston Villa.
His loan deal runs out at the end of the season, though it is claimed the current Italy boss would like to keep him on the books.
Having excelled while the AC Milan as a youngster, being crowned European Golden Boy of the Year back in 2009, Pato will be no stranger to Conte.
Before a series of injuries and a dip in form derailed his career, he was heralded as one of the finest young talents in world football due to his majestic exploits at the San Siro.
Is Conte right to want to keep Pato around? Or is his signing still one of the most pointless in recent memory?
