Incoming Chelsea boss turning to international lieutenant, plotting shock Premier League raid

Graziano Pelle

The announcement that Antonio Conte would be taking the reigns at Chelsea this summer, as you can well imagine, sent the proverbial rumour mill into overdrive.

For what seems like an age, the Blues fans who frequent the Transfer Tavern have been dealing with all sorts of stories linking their club to a number of Italian and Italian based players.

You’d forgive them for shrugging off virtually any rumour, having heard every possible name before.

However, even the most ardent of rumour merchants have met reports linking them with a move for Southampton forward Graziano Pelle with shock.

The Italian has emerged as a regular for the Azzurri during Conte’s tenure and is falling out of favour on the South Coast as his contract nears its final year.

Despite soon turning 31, The Sun claim the former Feyenoord marksman has proved himself as potent in the Premier League and could represent an ideal backup option to Diego Costa.

Would Pelle be an astute signing for Chelsea?
