He is set to become one of the most talked about players this January transfer window and here at the Football Transfer Tavern, Chelsea’s Frank Lampard has today been linked with another move to Italy, with the Mail Online claiming that Italian giants Inter Milan are interested.
Lampard has already been linked to a whole host of clubs, including fellow Serie A side Lazio and also Premier League outfits QPR and Manchester United. Despite Lampard being one of Chelsea’s longest and most consistent servants, they are set on forcing the player out of the club making Lampard one of the most sought after targets in football at present.
As our landlord rightly points out, Lampard was linked with Inter during the reign of Jose Mourinho nearly four-and-a-half years ago now and the club look set to try again. 34-year-old Lampard has been victim of injuries yet again this season but recently has looked on top of his game for Chelsea since returning. Now second in their all-time scorers list, it seems absurd that the Blues should let go of an iconic club talisman.
Inter currently lie nine points off the top in Serie A and owner Massimo Morratti feels that Lampard, despite turning 35 in June is the man to help close the gap and bring Inter back to the top of European Football.
