When their beloved Chelsea opted to sell club legend Petr Cech to growing ever bitter rivals Arsenal a year ago, many of the Blues in the Transfer Tavern agreed.
Despite the emotional pull the Stamford stalwart commanded in West London, the emergence of Thibaut Courtois heralded a new dawn for the Premier League giants.
While the Belgian was mightily impressive during Jose Mourinho’s title campaign, the 24-year-old has struggled ever since.
One of the major disappointments in the poor form that has dogged the club in recent months, a rather surprising stat has emerged.
Sourced from the Sun, the former Atletico Madrid has the WORST save percentage in the Premier League this season.
On average, it seems he saves just 47% of shots he’s faced, a reasonably big 3% less than his closest competitor Victor Valdes.
Bearing in mind he was once compared to the likes of David De Gea, Courtois is significantly lower than the Spaniard, who saves 65%.
