Chelsea must quickly stop their run of poor form if they want to remain in the top four by the end of this season.
The start to 2019 has been a disappointing one for the Blues and manager Maurizio Sarri. He and his players alike must take responsibility for their poor performances and make improvements accordingly to strengthen their grip on a place in the top four.
Surprisingly for Chelsea, their main issue of late has been scoring goals, not usually a problem for the Stamford Bridge side.
Yet with limited options to turn to, Chelsea’s best business of the window would be to keep Batshuayi and stop him going on yet another loan spell.
Batshuayi, (who is valued at £27 million on Transfermarkt) is a player that, given a proper chance at Chelsea, could turn their poor performances around.
Understandably, some fans may be reluctant to have him back as e didn’t do well at Valencia this season, (three goals in 23 appearances) however, with better service around him at Chelsea, the 25-year-old can expect a much greater return in-front of goal.
It would be a very bad decision if Chelsea let Batshuayi leave on a permanent basis during this transfer window because the Belgian international still has so much potential to give.
He has shown in glimpses what he is really capable of but under new boss Maurizio Sarri, he hasn’t even had the chance to show that yet.
Things have to improve up-front for Chelsea and that’s why they’re bringing in Gonzalo Higuain. However, pairing the Argentine up with Batshuayi could be a much smarter move than leaving just the on-loan Juventus striker alone.
