The sight of Jose Mourinho as Manchester United manager has hit the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern hard, though events at Old Trafford could be about to get a lot worse.
While the West London punters yesterday laughed off reports the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ could make a stunning move for Blues star Willian, suggestions from the Daily Telegraph may have added some weight to the previously pie-in-the-sky rumours.
They claim that the Brazilian has grown disgruntled with life at Stamford Bridge due to the fact his salary is around half that of teammate Eden Hazard’s.
The 27-year old was in stunning form this season and one of the few bright spots in a dreadful campaign, in which the club meekly surrendered their Premier League title.
While suggesting his reported £85k per week has the Seleaco samba star in dire straits is ridiculous, clearly he believes he is worth on par to the perhaps bigger names in the squad after some stunning individual performances.
Should Chelsea hand Willian improved terms?
