Chelsea have made a blistering start to life under Maurizio Sarri and look well-equipped to challenge for the title.

It was a turbulent summer at Stamford Bridge with constant speculation regarding the future of Antonio Conte at the club. Eventually, the Italian was given his marching orders and ex-Napoli boss Sarri replaced him in the dugout. Their new boss has clearly had a fantastic impact at the club already with Chelsea winning all four of their opening fixtures in the Premier League.

As Sarri’s arrival wasn’t confirmed until late in the transfer window, the Italian wasn’t given sufficient time to add to his squad. The Blues did manage to secure the signing of Jorginho from under the noses of rivals Manchester City but expect Sarri to return to the market when the window reopens in January.

One man he should be keeping tabs on is Genoa forward – Krzysztof Piatek. Valued at £3.6m by Transfermarkt, the Pole joined the Italian side from KS Cracovia this summer after racking up an impressive goalscoring record in his homeland. Piatek made a perfect start to life in the Serie A, netting three goals in just two appearances this season.

His performances have not gone unnoticed with the 23-year-old receiving a call-up to the Poland national team alongside the likes of Robert Lewandowski. Reports suggest that Barcelona are keeping a close eye on his development with a view to make him Luis Suarez’s long-term replacement the Nou Camp. If he keeps scoring, Chelsea should aim to be at the front of the queue for his services.

Should Alvaro Morata struggle to consistently find the back of the net again, Sarri may be the on the lookout for a new striker in January; Piatek could be the perfect solution.
