Lamps rejects big money China deal

They say footballers lack intelligence yet Frank Lampard has proved once again that he is an exception to this rule. The Football Transfer Tavern has burst into life after the Daily Mail claimed he turned down an approach from China.

Lamps has shown intelligence and a lack of greed quite remarkable for a footballer after rejecting the £20 million deal placed on the table from Guizhou Renhe. Whilst we mere mortals would jump at the chance to earn that much money for a couple of years Frank might have been put off by the experiences of Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka. Both are former team mates of course and both have found life in China quite difficult to say the least.

With Drogba back training at Cobham, it seems that he may have advised Lamaprd what not to do when a Chinese club comes calling and it looks like the midfielder is likely to look elsewhere for his next move. Let’s face it, Chelsea’s second highest goal scorer is not short of offers and it seems the only people who think he should be let go by current club Chelsea are Rafael Benitez and Roman Abramovich. Well Benitez managed to steer treble winning Inter Milan into the drop zone during his brief stay there and Abramovich has made the term ‘managerial merry-go-round’ practically dictionary worthy.
