Chelsea fans in the Tavern would probably consider this season as one to forget as the Premier League nears it’s conclusion. The reigning champions from last season have struggled in Antonio Conte’s second campaign with the club but a big transfer spending spree in the summer wouldn’t go amiss with the fans.
The transfer dealings from this year at Stamford Bridge have been rather lacklustre, not the type of signings to get the fans off their seats some would say. Players like Danny Drinkwater, Oliver Giroud and Alvaro Morata have struggled to make a real impact so far so more in’s and out’s this coming transfer window would be ideal for the fans gathered around the Tavern.
One player that Chelsea could try and acquire is Lazio’s Felipe Anderson, worth £22.50 million according to Transfermarkt. The energetic wide midfielder has impressed for the Italian outfit this season; playing in 19 games, scoring 5 goals and bagging seven assists. With Eden Hazard looking more and more likely to leave the Blues by the day, bringing in another winger would be a smart move from Conte and the Chelsea board.
With Anderson available as well, Chelsea will be starting to form a real menacing forward line once again with player such as Willian, Pedro, Hazard, Morata all to choose from.
Man City have outclassed every team in their way this year but if Chelsea want to steal their beloved Premier League title off the Citizens to return it to its rightful home, the Blues need to ensure they plunge face-first into the transfer market this summer.
