Man United and Chelsea on red alert as Euro giants could be forced into £31m sale of star midfielder

The Transfer Tavern has erupted into a punbelievable joke off between our punters, much to the annoyance of everyone else in this evening.

That’s because, according Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia), Serie A giants Roma could be forced into a PANIC sale of star midfielder Miralem PJANIC.

The silky Bosnian attacking midfielder has been linked with moves to both Chelsea (meaning there could be Pjanic on the streets of London….) and Manchester United over the past few months, as well as Italian champions Juventus.

One of the most highly rated stars plying his trade in Serie A, the 26-year old is believed to be a major target of incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte’s as he plots his revolution in West London.

He is thought to have a £31m release clause in his deal in the Italian capital, though the Giallorossi are understood to be keen on offering him a new deal that would erase that buyout.

However, their hands could be tied as they need to raise funds in order to avoid a €4m UEFA fine, which could ultimately lead to being expelled from European competition in a situation akin to that of Turkish giants Galatasaray’s.

Would Pjanic be an upgrade on Oscar at Chelsea?
