The Daily Mirror is reporting that Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish and Director of Football Damien Comolli both watched Blackburn centre-back Phil Jones in the match between Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City on Monday night.
The paper believes Dalglish is a massive fans of the 19 year old, and is prepared to go head to head with Manchester United for the player’s signature.
Alex Ferguson enquired about Jones last summer, and sees him as a long term replacement for Rio Ferdinand. With Chelsea and Arsenal also interested though, the defender may cost as much as £15million.
