The Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern were absolutely delighted to see their side return to winning ways last night. Indeed, after an awful run of form in recent weeks had seen Antonio Conte starting to feel the pressure, a meeting with bottom of the league West Brom could well have been a banana skin.
While the 3-0 scoreline may well have flattered the Blues, the mere fact they managed to stop the rot has absolutely delighted our west London locals. However, they weren’t particularly delighted with every decision Conte made at Stamford Bridge last night.
With the club’s official Twitter feed updating supporters of proceedings, their tweet revealing to those not watching on TV that the Italian had opted to replace Andreas Christensen with club captain Gary Cahill did little to impress fans on social media. Despite all his experience, the England international hasn’t impressed this season and may have lost the backing of the fans.
Gary Cahill replaces Andreas Christensen for the Blues. #CHEWBA

Cahill should be sold at the end of the season.

Not fit to wear the shirt, let alone the captain’s armband.
