Personal terms agreed ahead of potentially imminent Chelsea move

Still celebrating their pretty dominant 4-2 win over Southampton last night, the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been in high spirits.

Seven points clear with just a few games to go, the Blues look like seeing out their march towards a fifth Premier League title and, as a result, our west London locals are dancing in delirious delight.

So, some of the punters are already trying to discuss what sort of transfer activity the Stamford Bridge giants conduct this year. While many are talking about what big money signings will arrive, reports from ESPN shed some light on who could leave.

According to their report, Newcastle United could seal a permanent deal for Christian Atsu, following his loan spell at St. James’ Park. The Magpies are understood to have the option of a £6.5m transfer, though it must reportedly be completed by a week before the season ends.

Though Chelsea are said to be considering offering the Ghanian a new deal, personal terms with the Tyneside titans are thought to have been agreed.

Having failed to convince the local Chelsea fans, the fans here in the Tavern are hoping the Toon Army – recently promoted to the Premier League – opt to make their move.
