Much has been made of Chelsea’s defence this season, with David Luiz’s return to Stamford Bridge on Deadline Day coming straight out of left-field.
With Antonio Conte noted as a wonderful organiser, their struggles to sign a truly top class defender had the Blues in the Transfer Tavern fretting about the season ahead.
While Luiz is barely the most resolute defender, his return has excited our drinkers nonetheless, such is his popularity at Stamford Bridge.
As he gears up for his second debut with the club, club stalwart John Terry has welcomed the 29-year-old back.
Posting a photo on his Instagram page, the former England captain has given fans a glimpse at what could be their new backline.
Interestingly enough, Gary Cahill, Luiz and Kurt Zouma could very well be the men tasked with replacing the 35-year-old as he enters the autumn of his career.
Together, Terry and Luiz lifted the FA Cup, Champions League and Europa League prior to the latter’s sale in 2014.
Is Luiz a good signing for Chelsea?
