While this summer has proved rather frustrating for the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern so far in terms of arrivals, few would doubt the fact that the Blues certainly know how to make a pretty profit on a player.
The likes of Nathan Ake and Asmir Begovic have been sold for big money already, further boosting the coffers in west London and reports from the Daily Mirror suggest another super-sub could soon be on his way out of the club.
Indeed, despite his popularity amongst the Blues in the bar, it seems Nathaniel Chalobah is a serious target elsewhere in the Premier League. The England U21 is entering the final year of his deal at the club and, while he is said to be in talks about extending it, may face a challenge in banking first-team minutes next season.
With that in mind, Swansea City are understood to be interested, with Paul Clement knowing the player well following his time at Chelsea as a coach.
Teammate Tammy Abraham is expected to join the Swans on a season-long loan deal and the Welsh outfit are believed to be keen on beating the likes of Leicester City to the signing of Chalobah.
The player himself is reportedly keen on playing more often following his performances at England U21 level and, to be fair, many of our resident Blues wouldn’t begrudge him a departure in order to aid his development.
