A surprise to many but Chelsea’s form is now regarding them as title contenders, as they’re yet to lose a game.
The Blues weren’t dubbed in contention for the Premier League title this season with it mainly being predicted to be a two-horse race between Liverpool and Man City. That battle still remains the case but Maurizio Sarri’s team join them in being unbeaten thus far.
Their chances could even get stronger if they sell one of their players, which The Sun are reporting they will.
According to the paper, Chelsea are planning to sell Alvaro Morata having finally lost all hope in the Spaniard, accepting that despite a strong start, his best form may never be recaptured in West London.
If they’re to go ahead with a deal to sell Morata, what potential consequences could this have for manager and players…
Olivier Giroud given one final chance in blue of Chelsea
Despite having less than a year left on his Chelsea deal, there could still be time for the Frenchman to become a star at Chelsea.
Giroud hasn’t been a regular since switching Arsenal for the Blues but he has been a reliable Premier League goalscorer ever since arriving in England six years ago.
With Alvaro Morata out the picture, the 32-year-old could be given one final chance to impress Sarri and state a case for himself to be leading the line.
Sarri relived and can quickly reinvest
It seems that Chelsea and Sarri have now lost patience with Alvaro Morata and that a transfer away from Stamford Bridge is best for all involved.
Chelsea are not shy of spending the big bucks and so they would if they sell Morata. A big-name forward could be the difference between winning the title and not this season, it’s something the Blues must do.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
