This potential transfer could excite our resident Blues fans in the Transfer Tavern. While there’s not been a huge amount to shout about for our resident west London locals of late, there’s nothing quite like a good transfer story.
According to the Daily Mail (via the Sun), Chelsea are one of three Premier League clubs fighting for the signature of French sensation Lenny Pintor.
The 17-year-old has featured for the French under-17 team, and he currently plays in France’s second tier with Brest.
The youngster only signed his first professional contract a few months ago, and he’s yet to make a senior appearance for Brest, nonetheless, his performances with the French team have attracted the attention of some of the best teams in England.
Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea are all supposedly interested in acquiring the youngster.
Chelsea has illustrated on numerous occasions their ability to purchase young stars at a reasonable price and then sell them on for a profit. There’s the potential that they can break into the first-team, and if they fail – as most do – the Blues eventually sell them for a healthy profit. It’s a win-win for Chelsea.
