Why do the big boys always have to ruin all the fun? Just as title celebrations in the East Midlands get underway following the most unlikely usurping of all time, Leicester City are reportedly already being forced to look over their shoulders.
According to the Sun, Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri will plead with star midfielder N’Golo Kante to remain in the East Midlands just as Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain ramp up attempts to sign him.
The 25-year old has been one of the most sensational subplots of the Foxes’ fairytale, emerging as a key midfielder amid their title win despite a largely unheralded arrival.
His tireless work has not gone unnoticed, with all three titans of continental football understood to be keen on prizing him away from the King Power.
He is said to have a £20m release clause in the deal he penned last term, a relatively low sum of money considering the nature of his form and young age.
The Parisians are thought to have made tentative approaches after learning of the clause.
Still, Ranieri will reportedly plead with the Frenchman to get him to stay and could offer him double the wages he is currently on, believed to be around £25,000 a week.
Is there any hope at all that Kante will remain at Leicester? Would he be the biggest loss to the Foxes?
