Maurizio Sarri should be looking at bringing in a couple of players this January to strengthen Chelsea’s bid for the top four.
As Chelsea sit in fourth, four points behind Tottenham Hotspur and three points ahead of Arsenal, Sarri can be pleased with how his side have done on the whole, but he will be more than aware of how much there is to work on.
That is why in January, Chelsea fans should expect some new faces at Stamford Bridge to help them back on their way to Champions League football, that is as long as Arsenal or Manchester United do not overtake The Blues.
With that being said, Sarri should be hoping Roman Abramovich agrees to bring in this DUO in January…
According to reports, Hirving Lozano could be on his way to Chelsea this month. The PSV Eindhoven winger has 18 goals contributions in 17 games in the Eredivisie. Even in the Champions League, the Mexican with goals against Spurs and Inter Milan.
Chelsea have already acted to rejuvenate their wide roles, Christian Pulisic will arrive in the summer which could spell the end of Willian’s time at The Bridge and Lozano’s possible move could mean there is a lesser role for Pedro too.
If the 23-year-old was to join, his quick, tricky and direct nature will make him a handful for any Premier League defender and will only bolster the Chelsea squad for years to come.
Chelsea have been in desperate need of a clinical, yet all-round striker who knows how to play Sarri’s system very well.
They could very well have that in Gonzalo Higuain. The Argentine is close moving to London with Alvaro Morata heading to AC Milan in a loan swap deal, The Sun reports.
The 31-year-old has played under Sarri at Napoli for one season before his move to Juventus, in which he scored 36 times in 35 Serie A games.
Morata and Olivier Giroud have just six Premier League goals between them so far this season, which has lead to Sarri using Eden Hazard as a false nine instead at times, however, that could change if Sarri was to get his Higuain, who could get the best out of Hazard out wide too.
