‘See my future captain’, ‘Next John Terry’ – Chelsea fans absolutely love 22-year-old star

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their club’s tweet, promoting this month’s Chelsea magazine that stars birthday boy Andreas Christensen on the front cover. The magazine talks about Christensen’s rise as well as commemorating Ray Wilkins. Chelsea fans can read more on the Chelsea website.

The Chelsea fans propping our bar up have been focusing on Andreas Christensen though, the Dane has been in amazing form this season, slotting seamlessly into the Chelsea back three. The 22-year-old has been thrown his chance as David Luiz has fallen out of the picture owing to injury and a supposed fight with Antonio Conte. When given the opportunity though, the Dane wasn’t going to let it up and has used every bit of experience he picked up whilst on-loan at Borussia Monchengladbach to help his progress at Chelsea.

Many fans have likened him to John Terry and there wouldn’t be many complaints if the youngster followed Terry’s career path. Terry will forever be remembered as Mr Chelsea, and Christensen would be doing extremely well to become even just half as revered by the Chelsea fans as Terry is. In the short-term though, Christensen will be focusing on finishing the season strong as Chelsea face an FA Cup semi-final against Southampton as well as six more Premier League fixtures with the outside chance of gaining a Champions League place for next season.
