While the dust has barely settled following last night’s title win, the Chelsea fans celebrating in the Transfer Tavern are feeling slightly upset.
Though everybody knew John Terry’s exit was coming, the fact the Blues bastion won’t be around next season is starting to resonate amongst some of our west London locals.
According to the Daily Mirror, the veteran skipper is ready to join Premier League rivals Bournemouth in a lucrative deal.
The Cherries are understood to be willing to offer the former England captain a staggering £130kp/w over the course of a two-year deal.
That would see the 36-year-old rake in a cool £13.52m during his potential stay on the south coast, where he’d also reportedly be offered a hefty signing on fee.
While Chelsea’s rearguard has proved formidably solid this season, the idea of seeing Terry don another club’s colours and crest is an emotional one for many of our drinkers.
