Chelsea drinkers in the Transfer Tavern are debating the future of Kurt Zouma, following some rather unexpected comments from the Blues defender.
The France international is rated as one of world football’s most promising central defenders but has barely featured for the west London club since suffering an ACL injury towards the end of last season.
Indeed, despite Antonio Conte’s system requiring three centre-halves, the 22-year-old has clocked up just 23 minutes in the Premier League this term – although he has made three starts in the FA Cup.
Nonetheless, due to the enormous potential he showed after arriving from St. Etienne, the Tavern’s Chelsea punters rate Zouma as a valuable long-term asset, especially with captain John Terry potentially retiring this summer.
However, whilst speaking with beIN Sports, the 6 foot 3 starlet was surprisingly coy on his future at Stamford Bridge, hinting he could well move on in the next transfer window.

As quoted and translated by The Daily Star, he told the French sports outlet; “Leave Chelsea? We’ll see at the end of the season.”
Zouma has made 66 appearances for Chelsea, who are well on course to claim this season’s Premier League title, and won the club’s Player of the Year award when they lifted the same honour under Jose Mourinho in 2014/15.
