With the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern still reeling from the bombshell Diego Costa dropped recently, they’re eager to read any rumours and reports in regards to the Spaniard.
Indeed, with the 28-year-old having revealed Antonio Conte no longer wants him around Stamford Bridge, the Blues in the bar just hope things are sorted out quickly, so they can focus on their own moves.
With that in mind, reports from the Daily Telegraph have certainly proved interesting. They claim that, despite the transfer ban imposed on them, Atletico Madrid are continuing to work on a deal to bring Diego Costa to the Spanish capital.
Los Rojiblancos are unable to register players until January 2018 as a result of a ban, though are not thought to have given up on the idea of luring Costa back to the club.
He spearheaded their La Liga title win in 2014 and, despite his popularity amongst our resident Chelsea fans, seems to be heading for an exit from west London.
Though his name was chanted both often and loudly during the Blues’ two title cruises during his stint in SW6, many of our drinkers realise he a quick resolution is best for the club.
It may have been a bumpy ride at times, many of the Blues in the bar hope Costa gets what he wants this summer.
