Fifa have announced Chelsea have been officially banned from signing players during the next two transfer windows.

It was revealed the Blues breached rules in relation to signing youth players. An investigation revealed that Chelsea illegally approached players under the age of 18 including Bertrand Traore, who now features for Lyon. The Premier League have announced their intention to appeal the decision but chances of success are low.

The decision will be a massive blow to the Blues who have so far failed to meet expectations this season. Eden Hazard’s future remains unclear and Chelsea will now be unable to replace him should he choose to depart. Luckily for Maurizio Sarri, the club have a host of players out on loan who could act like new signings.

One man who could play a pivotal role as a result of the ban is English striker – Tammy Abraham. Valued at £9m by Transfermarkt, the 21-year-old is a product of the club’s youth academy and was tipped for a bright future at Stamford Bridge.  However, the forward has never been given the chance to prove himself and has been loaned to various Championship clubs.

Currently at Aston Villa, Abraham has been in fantastic form, netting 20 league goals in just 27 appearances. His excellent showings in the lower division should be enough to see him lead the line next season - Abraham will be chomping at the bit to prove himself at the club. A powerful, intelligent striker, the youngster has all the right attributes to be a success in the Premier League.

In a squad of Chelsea’s quality, his abilities would only be elevated.
