The astonishing stat that proves just how good this title-winner really is

For the past two years now, N’Golo Kante has been the toast of many here in the Transfer Tavern as well as those further afield in the footballing landscape.

The Chelsea midfielder helped take Leicester City to the Premier League title last season and in moving to the Stamford Bridge outfit, was tasked with reinvigourating a faltering side.

He’s certainly done that, though, and combined with Antonio Conte and a resurgent Diego Costa the Blues look like they are going to waltz away with the Premier League title.

Indeed, whilst Costa’s goals will take much of the attention surrounding the Blues’ title surge you simply cannot overlook Kante’s continued importance to a challenge at the top of the table.

Last night he was in inspired form against Liverpool as the Reds looked to overwhelm his side but he stood firm and made tackles and interceptions like they were going out of fashion.

Indeed, the Frenchman has been so good at reading games at breaking up play since coming to these shores he has racked up a scarcely believable stat.

As per Sky Sports, the midfielder has made the most tackles out of anyone in the league over the past three seasons when, incredibly, he’s only been here for two.

Kante has 253 tackles in 59 appearances compared to second-placed Nemanja Matic who has 252 in 91.

It really is impressive, and just shows you how good he has been.
