Our Chelsea fans here inside the Transfer Tavern are excited at the thought of a couple of the youth players within the clubs academy potentially breaking through in the near future.
Chelsea aren’t really known for giving their youth academy players a chance in recent years, often opting to send them out on loan to gain experience. Despite the very small number of successful players coming through the loan system, many will want to emulate the blueprint set by former club captain John Terry, who rose from the youth side of things into a Chelsea legend.
Sometimes, the loan system works for the Blues but many a time the loanees are shipped out to clubs in the Championship and around Europe in order to earn a start in their career. However, our landlord thinks he’s spotted two attacking players that have made quite the impression within Stamford Bridge at a young age and will only become better players with the ultimate goal of breaking into the first team this year and really making a name for themselves.
While Conte’s future is still up in the air, the future of Chelsea is looking to make an impression regardless, and now could be the best time to make the Chelsea current and potential future bosses stand up and take note. Our regulars take a look at these TWO exciting future stars…
The Scottish striker, at the age of 22 still hasn’t made a first-team appearance for the Blues, despite being at the club since 2011. Many a loan move has seen the forward man move around Europe in search of first-team football and to rediscover the form that had Chelsea hunt down the forward from Celtic.
Having so many loan periods under his belt at this age, surely all this experience must pay off for the Scot and he will be looking to finally break into the first team to show what he’s made of.
The third Hazard family member to join Chelsea, Kylian Hazard, will be looking to emulate his eldest brother Eden into making the switch into the first team and making the left wing his own for years to come.
The Hazard brothers have a strong attacking mentality and surely Kylian will look to carry on that tradition throughout his years in SW6. Indeed, if he becomes even half the player Eden is, Chelsea will look upon the decision to bring him the club as a sound investment.
