Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is surely facing the sack after the Blues crashed out of the FA Cup.

The Blues were soundly beaten by Manchester United to continue their recent poor form. It was the manner of the defeat that will concern Chelsea supporters with many players lacking the passion and desire to get back into the contest. Sarri was again criticised in the aftermath after failing to alter his gameplan to deal with the Red Devils.

Reports from the Daily Mail confirmed that senior Chelsea officials have met to discuss his future; another managerial change could happen at Stamford Bridge sooner rather than later. Regardless of who is in charge, Chelsea are in desperate need of a new forward. Should Sarri depart, it’s surely unlikely the Blues will fork out over £30m to sign 31-year-old Gonzalo Higuain permanently.

Instead, Chelsea should make a move for RB Leipzig hotshot - Timo Werner. Valued at £58.5m by Transfermarkt, the Germany international has established himself as one of the top forwards in the country during his time at the club. Werner was instrumental in guiding his side into the upper echelon of the Bundesliga, netting an incredible 21 goals in his debut season.

His lethal form in front of goal has continued during the current campaign - the 22-year-old has already scored 14 goals in all competitions so far. An intelligent forward with bags of pace, Werner is the perfect player to help take the Chelsea attack to the next level. The youngster is still developing and improving, in a squad surrounded by quality players like Eden Hazard, his abilities would be elevated.

Reports suggest that Jurgen Klopp will aim to lure the striker to Liverpool - the Blues must do all they can to beat their rivals to the punch.
