Transfer enquiry reportedly likely with impressive Chelsea man unsure of long-term future

Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking ahead to their FA Cup semi-final clash with Southampton after an abysmal campaign, however, they may start next season with one of their most promising talents.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been impressing at Crystal Palace and is tipped to be included in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming World Cup, but according to reports, he has admitted he is unsure of his future.

The Daily Mail are stating that the 22-year-old is not sure if his career at Stamford Bridge will continue, or if he will be somewhere else, although he has claimed he is more focused on now and will see what happens in the future.

“I really haven’t thought about what’s going to happen next season,” he told the Daily Mail.

“I’ve still got a few games now. I’m focused with Palace.

“Whatever happens next season, I’m not really looking at that right now. I’ll deal with that when it comes.”

Chelsea will want to likely keep the attacking midfielder as he continues to shine, however, they may be forced into accepting an offer for the Englishman should he want to play regular first-team football. A hugely talented central midfielder, the Blues really could do with his presence next season after struggling on that front this time around.

For their part, Palace are understood to be likely to enquire as to who his services as long as they stay up, though our west London locals would love to see their academy graduate handed a proper chance.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Chelsea fans in the Tavern will be hoping Loftus-Cheek has a future at the Bridge, with many of the locals believing he has a bright future at the club, however, a lack of match time could see him decide to try something new and head somewhere else in the summer.
