Have Manchester United let the cat out of the bag early regarding a possible deal for Mesut Ozil or has the website been victim of a cruel hack?
The Official Manchester United website mysteriously appeared to have an ‘invisible profile’ on its first team squad list some time ago with no other information on there apart from the name of the player; surprisingly it was that of German midfielder Mesut Ozil.
Has manager Alex Ferguson fought off the likes of Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona to secure the signature of the 21 year old? or are the Old Trafford club merely just getting ahead of themselves in order to boost fans excitement ahead of the new campaign?
In recent weeks the future of the World Cup star Ozil has been up in the air with a host of top European clubs chasing the players signature. Recent reports from Germany had seemed to suggest that Werder Bremen midfielder was hoping to land a ‘dream’ move to Barcelona but, with many questioning how the Catalan club has the funds to afford a move for the youngster, as well as how he would fit into manager Josep Guardiola’s formation which already boasts the likes of Messi, Xavi and Iniesta, it would seem the former Schalke player is eyeing up a move to 18 time league champions, United.
Red Devil fans can only hold their breath in anticipation of a possible deal which may be annouced in the not too distant future. The player would undoubtably bring greater strength and skill to a squad which Ferguson already declared himself more than happy with after Sunday’s Community Shield triumph over Chelsea at Wembley.
