‘We’d be complete’ , ‘Selling us dreams’ – Chelsea fans give mixed signals on latest rumour

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern pose a mixture of optimism and lack of faith as news filters through of the possible signing of highly rated Alex Sandro.

After the 5 main signings made in all positions during the summer transfer window by Conte, it was thought that Chelsea had signed the necessary players in the correct positions in order to chase a repeat of last season’s glory.

Strengthening defensive duties with the signing of right-back Davide Zappacosta and central defender Antonio Rudiger, on top of what was already a title-winning Chelsea defence, the manager must have felt that this was an area that wasn’t far off complete.

However, 7 games into the season and 2 Champions League games into it, the Blues have opted for a sudden change of heart after a recent run of games that has seen them drop to 4th in the table, 6 points off leaders Manchester City.

Coming off the back of a 1-0 loss at home to title rivals Man City, the London based club must be looking to strengthen in the defensive area and now see themselves as being liable down the left flank. Any injury for Marcos Alonso would result in Victor Moses having to defend in what would be an unnatural position for him, as a right sided player.

So with the need for improvement, that’s where Conte target Alex Sandro steps in, the Brazilian defender who currently plays for Italian giants Juventus has caught the eye of the Chelsea manager in previous seasons gone by as they’ve reportedly made many attempts to sign the man.

However, with the January transfer window fast approaching the Juventus left-back has filtered through as a £60 million pound target for Conte after reigniting his interest in the Brazilian international as he looks to sure up the defensive line at the Bridge.

With all of this in mind, here’s a taste of the reactions fans have been giving off on social media.
