Chelsea have been so inconsistent this season, something that could well cost Maurizio Sarri his job if he doesn’t make improvements.
From a season which began with so much promise has now endured some moments of madness that Chelsea will quickly want to forget about.
With several players not living up to their true ability, Sarri has his work cut out but should take responsibility with his team’s performances, seeing as he hasn’t either covered himself in glory.
Whoever is in charge come the start of next season needs to make some serious improvements and with a lot of dead-wood to shift, Chelsea could be completely revamped by August.
With the signing of a hard-working midfielder like Leicester’s Wilfred Ndidi, their chances could be far greater with the Nigerian international brought into the side.
Ndidi, (who is valued at £31.5 million on Transfermarkt) has once again had a strong campaign for Leicester, which will only mean more interest surrounds the midfielder in the summer.
The 22-year-old has an incredible engine that keeps him going all game long and Chelsea will fondly remember the other top midfielder they signed from the Foxes – N’Golo Kante.
A number of Chelsea midfielders look set for a move away this summer and there could be a big clear-out at Stamford Bridge, with the club hopeful of being title contenders once again.
Ndidi has played in every Premier League game for Leicester this season and provided two goals and an assist. Goal contribution is uncommon for the Nigerian but intercepting and tackling are his specialty, ranking 9th and 4th in the league respectively.
Improvements must be made to Chelsea’s team sooner rather than later and with another athletic midfielder surrounding the likes of Jorginho and N’Golo Kante, the Blues have a perfect mix of quality.
