Highly-rated Palermo midfielder Josip Ilicic is wanted by both Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea according to the player’s agent, but an official bid is yet to be made. The Bosnian-born Slovenian international, 23, has impressed in Serie A since his shock move to Palermo from Slovenian minnow’s NK Maribor last July.
Tottenham are reportedly ready to test Palermo’s resolve with a summer bid for Ilicic, who has already cemented his place in the Sicilian club’s first-team. The player’s agent Amir Ruznic, who has played a major part in the Slovenian’s meteoric rise, told Reterete24.it,
“I have not had contact with their directors, but it is a fact the player is liked by the English club.”
However, Spurs and Chelsea are not the only clubs keeping a close eye on in the attacking midfielder, the enterprising Ruznic believes interest in Ilicic is strong from all of Europe’s top leagues,
“However, there are many teams keen on Ilicic from the Premier League and Spanish league as well as Serie A. At the moment there is no concrete way out and so we can see a Palermo stay at the end of term.”
The 6′ 3″ attacking midfielder has shot to attention in Italy with an impressive 8 goals in 23 league appearances this season.

Due to their player’s outstanding form, Palermo are thought to want €20million for a player they bought for just €2.2million just seven months ago. It would not be the first time a club had made a major profit on Ilicic, Maribor made a fantastic return on the €80k they had paid for Ilicic, as Palermo stumped up €2.2million for the dynamic midfielder.
