Chelsea’s transfer hopes over as Blues target agrees La Liga switch?

ReusMetro certainly have given Chelsea fans something to be unimpressed at after claiming that the Blues are set to miss out on a swoop for German international Marco Reus.

The Borussia Dortmund star is all set to leave Signal Iduna Park at the end of the season and it seems that whilst Chelsea and indeed a fair few other clubs around Europe were keen on the creative star, Real Madrid are once again set to win the battle of the transfer market.

Today’s reports reference El Confidencial’s claims that it is indeed Los Blancos who will secure Reus, tempting him with a five-year deal worth ¬£103,000-a-week in wages.

The Spanish side are arguably the best in the world at the minute and whilst we think that Reus will certainly strengthen their ranks, there is no denying he would probably receive more playing time at Stamford Bridge.

Jose Mourinho was reportedly willing to see Andre Schurrle and Mohamed Salah leave West London to free up space for a Reus swoop but as our regulars note, the Blues boss will now have to turn his attentions elsewhere unless they are confident of hijacking a move for the star.

Chelsea fans. Is there still hope until a deal is signed, sealed and announced? Can you land Reus? Let us know your thoughts below.
